At Meaden, we create ethically made jewellery with intention, care, and respect for both people and the planet. Every piece is handcrafted in our Auckland, New Zealand workroom, supporting sustainable fashion principles and reducing the footprint of mass production.
We are committed to responsible sourcing, working with trusted suppliers who share our values. This includes sourcing ethical diamonds and coloured gemstones directly from partners who prioritise fair labour, safe practices, and full transparency. For the most part, we work with lab-grown diamonds, which offer a lower environmental impact while still meeting the highest standards of quality and beauty.
We also prioritise recycled precious metals wherever possible. Using recycled gold and platinum helps us minimise waste and reduce the need for newly mined materials, supporting more sustainable industry practices. We carefully recycle any offcuts and scrap metal in our workshop, ensuring that as little as possible goes to waste.
Before we create your piece, we offer realistic 3D renders and a resin model, allowing you to see and feel exactly what your custom jewellery will look like in advance. This helps you feel confident in your design choices and ensures we create something you truly love.
Many of our clients choose to remodel heirloom jewellery, reusing existing diamonds, gemstones, or gold. This not only preserves the sentimental value of the original piece but also aligns with our commitment to sustainable design. By repurposing what already exists, we create meaningful, one-of-a-kind jewellery with a lower environmental impact.
At Meaden, every detail of our process, from the materials we source to the way we make each piece, reflects our values. Whether you're commissioning a custom engagement ring, restoring a family heirloom, or redesigning something old into something new, we take pride in offering jewellery that is as responsible as it is beautiful.
